The Chinese tech giant has been running program in Malawi called the Seeds for The Future, they have been offering ICT training to the University students in Malawi & other countries including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Uganda & other countries since 2016. Malawi Government under the Ministry of Agriculture each & every year releases the crop estimates of Maize production during the farming season so that the country can have a picture on how much will be harvested. Sometimes the estimates did not depict true reflection of what is on the ground. In the year 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture released a crop estimate report which indicated that the country was expected to produce 3.8 million metric tones of maize out of its required 3.3 million metric tones representing a 0.5 million metric tones surplus.
